A large part of self care is surrounding yourself with positive messaging and inspiration. Use these 8 tools to set and achieve your goals!

Setting goals and achieving them can require a lot of time and effort. But in the end, it feels so rewarding.

1. Article – How and Why to do a Life Audit by Ximena Vengoechea

This 10-minute read will introduce you to the idea of a life audit and explain what that entails. It will also explain how you can benefit from doing one.

The article equates a life audit to “spring cleaning for the soul”. It’s a great exercise in self reflection and goal setting.

I personally found the article so inspiring I did a life audit myself! I really recommend it to help you identify your priorities and goals in life.

2. YouTube Video – Becoming a Boss by Jenn Im

Jenn Im is a fashion and beauty content creator, fashion designer, and the definition of boss goals. Her YouTube channel is really inspiring overall, but her video on “Becoming a Boss” is a must-watch.

Sometimes being confident in our abilities and stepping up as a boss can be difficult. It can also be difficult to overcome impostor syndrome and the feeling of “not truly being a boss”.

In this video, Jenn gives you actionable ways to be productive and be more comfortable with being a boss.

3. Book – Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes

In this book, Shonda Rhimes – creator of Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder – describes her journey from introvert who said no to a lot…to someone who said yes a whole lot.

Learn about the power of saying yes and how it can benefit you in your own life through reading this funny and inspiring book.

4. Social Media Account – Recipes for Self Love

To bring some regular positivity into your Instagram feed, follow Recipes for Self Love. The artist who owns the account, Alison Rachel, shares empowering images and messages for women.

She covers topics such as self care, feminism, anxiety, beauty, etc. Her posts always add some much needed inspiration to my Instagram feed.

With so much negativity and toxicity in social media, it can be really beneficial to ensure you add some positivity to your feed.

5. Podcast – Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations

Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations is a podcast of Oprah’s personal selection of interviews with thought-leaders, authors and health & wellness experts.

In this podcast, Oprah and her guests tackle big life questions and inspirational topics. Put this podcast on while you workout, drive to work, or any other time you can use a little boost of positivity and inspiration.

6. TV Show – Queer Eye

If you ever need some empowering messaging in your life, watch some Queer Eye, a Netflix reboot of the original series Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

For those who haven’t seen it, five professionals in fashion, grooming, culture, food, and interior design give someone a makeover. But, it’s more than just a physical makeover of the person and their living space.

The show dives into deep and important issues, helping the person along mental and emotional journeys as well often with an overarching messages of self-love and embracing who you are.

7. App – Sanity and Self

Sanity and Self is a self care subscription app for women where you can listen to audio sessions on various topics such as anxiety, depression, self-love, etc.

You can also chat 1:1 with a professional counselor and communicate with other women in a community forum feature. I use this app everyday and find the subscription worth the price!

In addition to the app benefiting your overall mental health and wellness, there are also specific audio sessions on goal setting and other personal growth topics that will help you find success.

You can also talk to a professional counselor who will help you reflect on your life, set healthy goals, and work towards them in actionable steps.

8. Song – Run the World (Girls) by Beyonce

Last on the list, for when you’re looking for a female empowerment anthem, listen to Run the World (Girls) by Beyonce.

Everyone needs that go-to song to boost your mood and feel confidence in your ability to succeed.

Put this jam on when you’re getting ready and sing your heart out!
