Keep in mind, these are body scrub recipes, and should not be used on the face because your facial skin is more sensitive.
This post is going to give you 4 DIY scrub recipes!
Why should you exfoliate with a body scrub?
Exfoliation improves both skin health and appearance.
It removes dead skin so your skin will appear brighter. Exfoliation also allows you skin to be able to better absorb moisturizers. Products applied after exfoliation won’t just sit on the surface of your skin, but rather penetrate the skin more deeply.
Exfoliation also promotes the production of collagen and is a great way to relax and soothe your skin.
A lot of times when you think of exfoliation, you might just think about the skin on your face. However, your whole body will benefit from exfoliation.
How often should you exfoliate?
I recommend you exfoliate about 2-3 times per week.
Don’t use this body scrub every day, because you can risk drying out or irritating your skin. If you have sensitive skin, start with exfoliating once every other week, and add more as needed.
It’s best to apply the body scrub in the shower so you can easily massage it into your skin and rinse it off with warm water.
If you have a skin condition, reach out to a dermatologist to see if a body scrub is right for you! And always make sure you don’t use on sunburned or irritated skin.
