1. Earn a free face mask from Lush

Lush is one of my favorite beauty brands – they are cruelty free, provide natural products, and make everything by hand.

Oh, and all of their products are effective and smell delicious. What else could you want?

And here’s a tip you may not be aware of…If you return 5 Lush product pots to a local store, you will get a Fresh face mask for free.

That’s right – just by returning your containers you can get free products!

Hold on to all of those containers and get your free face mask. Lush will recycle and re-purpose those containers so nothing goes to waste.

2. Earn cash back when you make beauty purchases

Swagbucks is an online platform and app where you can earn points and redeem them for gift cards through filling out surveys, shopping, watching videos, and more.

When you click through Swagbucks to order from your favorite beauty outlets, you can earn “cash back” in the form of points that can be redeemed for gift cards.

Some of the brands you can earn cash back from on Swagbucks include beauty stores like Sephora and Ulta, or you can also earn cash back when you order beauty products from places like Amazon and Target.

Maximize your beauty budget by earning cash back every time you purchase online.

It’s essentially free money so what do you have to lose?

Another way that you can earn cash back on beauty purchases is through credit cards that give you cash back.

Cards like Chase Freedom Unlimited and Discover give you a certain percentage of purchases back. So you earn cash back just from making normal purchases you would anyways.

Use a cash back credit card in-store or online for beauty purchases to get some of that money back to your bank account.

3. Makeup-free days

This may sound obvious – but, save on products by having makeup-free days and using less of each product. If you’re just lounging around the house, save products by keeping it makeup-free for the day.

Or designate a day of the week, like Sunday, where you don’t wear makeup.

Not only will it help your makeup products last longer by limiting their use, but you will also give your skin a healthy break and chance to breathe for a day.

You’ll find that even one day a week really extends the life of your beauty products that you typically use every day.

4. Join a beauty rewards programs

Joining the rewards programs for your favorite beauty shops can be a great way to score free products.

The Sephora Beauty Insider Program is a great example of this. It’s completely free to sign up, and you automatically earn points for all of your purchases.

You can redeem these points for various products and samples that are offered. Additionally, you get a free birthday gift from Sephora every year as a member of the program.

That means you’ll get free products just for turning a year older and for making regular purchases.

5. Use smaller products

A lot of times, it is cheaper to buy something in a larger size than multiple smaller sizes. However, I have found with certain beauty products, I get more for my money by purchasing the smaller size.

Take Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (a staple in my everyday makeup routine) for example.

Too Faced sells a full size version (.27 oz) for $25 and a mini version (.17 oz) for $13. Not only is it cheaper per ounce to buy the mini version, but I have also found that because mascara can get clumpy, I would end up throwing out the larger version before I even used all of the product.

When I buy the mini size, I don’t have this issue, and I am able to utilize all of the mascara in the tube before purchasing a new one. And as a bonus the smaller size fits into a purse really easily so you can bring it along to reapply later as well.

That is just one example of how sometimes purchasing smaller products equates to a bigger bang for your buck. Check out the small or travel sizes of your favorite products to see if that could be the case for you, too!

Those are the 5 beauty budget hacks you need to know.

Keeping up a self care routine that includes beauty and skin care can put a dent in your paycheck, but with these hacks you can maximize the beauty bang for your buck!

  1. Another tip I would suggest is to start making your own natural skin care products at home! They can be really effective and help you save a looot of money. They’re also really good because you know exactly what is in the products. To make it an even more pleasurable self care experience, set the ambience at home and indulge yourself in a few homemade scrubs and face masks.
