It’s a tasty treat AND you sneak in some great fruits and veggies. You won’t even realize you’re eating any vegetables!

Before we get to the ingredients, let’s talk about the tools you will need to make this green smoothie bowl recipe.

You will need a blender to combine all of the ingredients in this recipe.

I use this personal blender from Ninja. I like to use this blender because it makes portioning a single smoothie a lot easier than using a larger blender.

This is the best blender I have ever used because it easily blends frozen fruit or ice, which I find essential for making my smoothie bowls.

It honestly takes about 10 seconds of blending and my smoothie is ready.

I also love that it’s a personal size blender so you can measure the ingredients easily in the cup and portion it properly so you don’t end up making too much.

It also comes with lids for the blending cups if you would rather drink this recipe on the go as a smoothie instead of turning it into a smoothie bowl.

Now let’s jump into this green smoothie bowl recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of spinach
  • 1/2 cup of kale
  • 4 oz almond milk
  • 1/2 cup frozen mango
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 3 tbsp granola

Instructions:

  1. To start making your smoothie bowl, put the spinach and kale in the blending cup with the almond milk. Blend this together first before adding any other ingredients in order to make sure all of the spinach and kale is blended smoothly. Tip: I also find it blends the best if you freeze the spinach and kale ahead of time.
  2. Next, peel the banana and set aside five slices for a topping. Put the rest into your blender.
  3. Add the frozen mango, frozen pineapple, almond butter, and remaining banana to the blending cup.
  4. Blend for a few seconds just until all ingredients are blended. Don’t blend too long in order to keep it thick enough for a smoothie bowl. Tip: If you want to turn this recipe into a smoothie to drink, just blend a little longer.
  5. Pour your smoothie into a bowl and top with the banana slices you set aside, chia seeds, and granola.
  6. Enjoy!

As you can see, I choose to top this green smoothie bowl recipe with banana, chia seeds, and granola. I like to use Nature Valley Protein Granola to get a little more protein into my morning meal.

However, you have a lot of flexibility with your toppings and the possibilities are endless.

Other topping ideas that would pair really well with this green smoothie bowl include:

  • Coconut
  • Flax seeds
  • Fresh fruit
  • Sliced almonds
  • Cacao nibs
  • Hemp
  • Drizzle of honey

Choose the toppings that sound the best to you and fit into your diet plan.

You can also mix up the toppings each day or week so you don’t get tired of eating the same thing over and over.

Now you have a delicious green smoothie bowl, enjoy!
