Sanity and Self: The Self Care App You Need
Self care straight to you from your phone!
I want to start off by saying, this is NOT an ad. I am not getting paid for this content. This self care app is just so good that I have to share it with you guys.
Sanity and Self is a self care app made just for women.
It was co-founded by CEO Meng Li who realized she wasn’t devoting enough time in her busy life to self-care. Because of that, she developed an app that would help women through journeys of self-discovery, self-empowerment, and self-development.
I started using this app two years ago when I was in the midst of some major life changes. It not only helped me get through that period of time, but I loved it so much that I have been using it everyday since!
This self care app is broken out into three categories: Listen, Chat, and Community.
1. Listen
One of my favorite parts of this app is the audio sessions they have available for you to listen to. These sessions are available on demand any time you want.
There are audio sessions on tons of different self care topics. For example, anxiety, stress, love and relationships, fitness motivation, personal growth, and so many more.
Each session is recorded by an expert. They are usually about 10 minutes or less so they’re really easy to fit into small spaces of time you have available throughout the day.
You can listen to these sessions in the car, while you workout, while you clean, or just while you are unwinding for the day before going to bed.
Some of my favorite sessions have been Trauma and Trust, Give Less F#cks, and Self-Compassion. I highly recommend these sessions to anyone who downloads the app.
These audio sessions are really empowering.
Each one will give you a new perspective on whatever issue you are dealing with at the time. They will also help you to process your thoughts and give you the inspiration to act on the expert’s advice.
2. Chat
Another great feature in this app is the chat feature. This feature allows you to text or video chat one on one with an expert who will help you work out whatever you’re going through at the time.
You do need to pay extra to chat with an expert, but it is worth the money.
No matter what you’re struggling with – anxiety, stress, goal setting – it can be really helpful to talk to a professional. They can give you a third-party perspective, provide support, and suggest advice.
This feature gives you a place to vent and work through your feelings. That way, they don’t build up and lead to you taking it out on your significant other, family, or friends.
Accessing the chat feature can also be a lower cost alternative to an in-person therapist which isn’t always covered by insurance.
Additionally, the chat feature is available 24/7 so you can utilize it whenever you feel you could use some additional support throughout your day or week.
3. Community
The third feature on the Sanity and Self App is the community feature.
This is an open forum where you can ask questions, encourage others, or just make connections with real people going through something similar.
I LOVE this feature because there are so many women out there supporting each other. Empowered women empower women, right?
Remember – strong women support other women! You never know what someone else is going through.
Find other people who are struggling with a similar issue to find some solidarity and support.
You may find some really inspirational stories and some great helpful advice.
